Men's Tennis Advances In Both Singles and Doubles

PRINCETON, N.J. - Judson Williams (Raleigh, N.C.) advanced to the finals during the second day of play at the Princeton Fall Invitational.
Williams, who posted two wins in the first day of competition, beat Princeton teammate Trevor Smith (Hilton Head, S.C.) in the semifinals 6-4, 6-2 to make a finals appearance against Columbia's Oscar Chow. In the quarterfinal match, Williams defeated Eric Sabotka of Penn 6-1, 6-0.
Princeton's Kyle Kliegerman (New York, N.Y.) was defeated in the other semifinal match-up by Chow 5-6 (4), 6-5 (4), 6-1.
In doubles, Smith teamed up with John Portlock (Wilton, Conn.) to knock off Tiger teammates Nick Benjamin (Princeton Jct., N.J.) and Tim Kofol (Bronxville, N.Y.) 8-3 in the quarterfinals. The duo will take on Akram Zaman and Pavel Jefferson from Columbia in the semis.
Action was moved from the Lenz Tennis Center to the Jadwin Gymnasium tennis courts early this afternoon. If weather and court conditions permit, the event will make its way back to the tennis center for continued play tomorrow, Sunday, Sept. 24th.
