PRINCETON, N.J. - Princeton's Neil Stevenson-Moore (North Vancouver, B.C.) was named the ECAC Rookie of the Week after a three-point performance in the Tigers' 5-4 victory over Vermont in men's hockey Saturday.
Stevenson-Moore, a 6' 2", 225-pound freshman forward, scored his first collegiate points against the Catamounts, including the game-winning goal at 12:52 of the third period to break a 4-4 tie. He also scored Princeton's first goal to tie the game at 1-1 in the first period and assisted on freshman James Fitzpatrick's (Lawrenceville, N.J.) first collegiate goal in the second period.
An assistant captain for the Burnaby Bulldogs last year, Stevenson-Moore was a league all-star after scoring 87 points (33 goals, 54 assists) in 60 games. He also was named most sportsmanlike while with the Bulldogs, but through five games he leads Princeton with 17 penalty minutes.
Princeton's next game is Tuesday, Nov. 20 when it hosts Yale at 7 p.m. at Hobey Baker Rink. After traveling to Yale for a Nov. 24 rematch, the Tigers return home for games against Northeastern (Nov. 27), Colgate (Nov. 30) and Cornell (Dec. 1). All three games begin a 7 p.m. Tickets may be purchased by calling the Princeton ticket office at 609-258-3538 or logging on to www.GoPrincetonTigers.com.
