Women's Basketball Tries To Get Back On Track At Sacred Heart

Princeton, N.J. - The Princeton women's basketball team is back on the road this weekend, traveling to Sacred Heart where it hopes to get on track after a 56-53 loss to Lehigh in its first home game of the season. The Tigers are 1-3 as they face the Pioneers, who defeated Princeton 69-61 last season.
Princeton enters the game with three players averaging double figures in points, set up mostly by sophomore Katy O'Brien who has a team-high 5.3 assists per game. Freshmen Katy Digovich and Casey Lockwood lead the Tigers with 15.8 and 13.5 points per game while Becky Brown averages 12.0. Lockwood is shooting a team-best 56 percent from the floor and 67 percent from three-point range, connecting on 6 of 9 attempts. Digovich has nine three pointers and is shooting 12 for 16 from the line. Sacred Heart, coming off a 79-68 win over Yale, is 4-1 this season with its only loss coming to ACC powerhouse Maryland. Led by freshman Amanda Pape's 18.8 points and 3.6 steals per game, the Pioneers had landslide wins over Massachusetts, Lafayette-Md., Lafayette-La. and Yale.
Pape is shooting a team-best 57 percent from the field, scoring over 20 points in three games this season. The next highest scorers are Kerri Burke and Nicolle Rubino, who each average eight points per game. Ashley Kohl is the biggest threat behind the arc, hitting eight three-pointers on 19 attempts.
The Pioneers average 71.2 points per game, which is just over six points more than the Tigers average. Princeton holds the advantage in field goal percentage, shooting 40 percent from the floor and 42 percent from three-point range.
On the boards, the teams each average 38 rebounds per game. Kate Maher leads Sacred Heart and Lockwood leads Princeton, both with 8.8 rebounds per game.
