Distance Runners Lead Princeton Women At Lafayette Invitational

Easton, Pa. - Freshmen Cack Ferrell and Maggie Moore led Princeton's women's track team with victories at the Lafayette Invitational in Easton, Pa. on Saturday. Ferrell won the 1,500-meter race and Moore took the 5,000-meter run to give Princeton two gold medallists in the distance events.
Ferrell captured the 1,500 in 4:28.50. Sophomore Carrie Strickland placed second in 4:28.70. The Tigers faired well in the event with Pilar Marin placing fifth and Kate Reid taking sixth.
In the 5,000 meters, Moore won with a time of 17:38.50. Senior Elizabeth Grau took third while junior Krystel Alder place sixth. Alder also placed sixth in the 3,000 meters.
In the field events, Dalia Back took third in the pole vault, clearing a height of 10-04. Senior Rachel Rosemeyer was fourth in the discus and both Molly Jones (triple jump) and Alison Brawner (high jump) placed fifth in their respective events.
The Tigers are in action again this Thursday-Saturday, April 24-26 at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia.
