Kiser Shoots Eight-Over-Par On Day One Of NCAA Regionals

Princeton, N.J. - Sophomore Avery Kiser shot a 79 and is tied for 71st place at the 2003 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Regionals at Salem Glen Country Club in Clemmons, N.C. Kiser finished the day eight strokes over par and is 11 strokes off the pace with 36 holes left in the tournament.
Kiser is one of only three at-large bids to make the regional. Brandi Jackson of Furman and Kristy McPherson of South Carolina lead with an 18-hole score of 68 on Day One. Duke is the team leader after the first day with a team total of 288.
The East Regional continues play at 7:30 a.m. tomorrow. Kiser and the field will play another 18 holes and conclude on Saturday with the final 18.
