Volleyball Puts Forth Good Showing But Falls To St. John's

Jamaica, N.Y. - The Princeton women's volleyball team ended its first weekend of the season with a 1-2 performance at the St. John's Invitational. The Tigers ended the weekend with a 3-1 loss to the host Red Storm, although the Tigers did well to earn one game against the top team at the Invitational.
Princeton had its best hitting game of the day in the opening game, hitting .310 in the game to take a 31-29 win. Princeton would stay close in the next three games, but St. John's held it off each time. Game scores were 29-31, 30-25, 30-24, 30-27.
Princeton falls to 1-2, while St. John's improves to 9-2.
Lauren Loban and Lauren Grumet led the Tigers with 17 kills apiece, while Jenny Senske added a season-best 50 assists. Jenny McReynolds led the defense with 22 digs.
Jackie Ahlers led St. John's with 25 kills.
Princeton will compete at the Colgate Invitational next weekend.
