Elizabeth Pillion Named Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week

Junior Elizabeth Pillion, who scored four goals and added five assists in two Princeton wins last week, has been named the Ivy League Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week for games ending March 21.
Pillion, a second-team All-America as a sophomore last season, scored two goals and had three assists in top-ranked Princeton's 12-5 victory over No. 4 Duke Wednesday at Class of 1952 Stadium. She had a goal and two assists in Princeton's 4-0 run that ended the game. Saturday, against Penn State, Pillion had two goals and two assists as the Tigers scored the game's final six goals on the way to a 13-7 victory over the No. 18 Nittany Lions.
The Villanova, Pa., native is fourth on the Tigers with nine goals and 15 points in 2004. She has started all five games for Princeton, which has a 14-game winning streak dating back to April of last season.
The 5-0 Tigers, ranked No. 1 in the country in the latest IWLCA poll, open their Ivy League season Wednesday night (7 p.m.) at Columbia before traveling to No. 2 Georgetown for an early-season showdown Friday afternoon.
