Softball Heads To California For Spring Break

PRINCETON, N.J. -- After a strong offensive performance last weekend, the Princeton softball team heads to northern Calfornia for its spring break trip. The Tigers start action in the National Invitational Softball Tournament in San Jose, Calif. with a 2 p.m. start against Santa Clara, tomorrow. During the trip Princeton will face Cal-Berkeley, Saint Mary's, UC Davis, Colorado State, Pacific, Utah and Stanford.
Last weekend the Tigers went 4-1 in the East Carolina Pirate Clash. Princeton shutout its first five opponents, 18-0 and advanced to the tournament's semi-finals as the top-seed. In Tigers, then, fell to Elon 5-1.
Princeton's largest scoring output was a 9-0 victory over Elon in the second day of the tournament. Freshman Kristen Schaus recorded a no-hitter in that win.
