HUNTINGDON, Pa. - The young men's volleyball team knew it would eventually get a victory, but few outside the program likely felt it would come Saturday afternoon against a tough Juniata squad. Princeton rallied from 2-1 down to knock off the Eagles and get back to 1-1 in league play.
It might have looked like another loss for Princeton after three games, but the Tigers put their game in top gear and pulled out a dramatic and much-needed win. The game scores were 30-22, 27-30, 26-30, 30-27 and 15-11.
Sophomore outside hitter Peter Eichler led his team with 22 kills, while junior rightside hitter Jack Pichard added 20 kills of his own. Freshman Michael Vincent had one of his best matches in the middle, killing 12 balls while producing a team-high eight blocks. Brian Hamming was also in double figures with 11 kills while also finishing with two aces. Brandon Denham finished with 67 assists while Ryn Burns brought up 16 digs.
Princeton will make its home debut this weekend with three matches, beginning Wednesday with a 7 p.m. showdown against NYU.
