Tennis Incoming Freshman Lauren McHale Competes in U.S. Open

PRINCETON -- Incoming freshman tennis player Lauren McHale began her competition in the juniors bracket of the U.S. Open Monday morning as one of 64 players to qualify for the singles event.
McHale fell, 6-3, 6-4 to Great Britain's Heather Watson in her first-round singles match, but will compete in the doubles bracket Tuesday afternoon. A native of Englewood, N.J., McHale will be paired with 17-year-old Floridian Alexa Guarachi against the Indonesian pair of Beatrice Gumulya and Jessy Rompies.
