Men's Basketball Visits Martin House Learning Center
October 07, 2009 | Men's Basketball
PRINCETON -- During the past offeseason, the men's basketball team paid a
visit to the Martin House Learning Center in Trenton, N.J., and spoke to the participants about the empowering
benefits of education. The day ended with a clinic on passing, shooting
and dribbling drills.
The Martin House Learning Center is a facility dedicated to providing
academic resources and support to the children of Trenton's families. Under the direction of long-time director Robert
Donaldson, the MHLC has sponsored a youth basketball league for local kids. Participants of the youth league must
maintain a high GPA in their classes as well as attend 10 lectures on
subjects such as AIDS, drugs, and the responsibilities of a male.
Currently more than 500 children and young adults participate in these
programs.
Back on campus, the Tigers will begin practice next week in anticipation of the 2009-10 season beginning Nov. 14.
