Thirteen Former Tigers Preparing For Pro Hockey Season

Princeton finished the 2008-09 season with four players in the NHL and start the 2009-10 campaign with six players in NHL camps. Jeff Halpern (Tampa Bay), George Parros (Anaheim), Darroll Powe (Philadelphia) and Kevin Westgarth (Los Angeles) played in the NHL last season and are back with their same teams this year. Mike Moore and Brett Westgarth are looking to make the NHL rosters for their respective teams this season after playing in the AHL last season. Moore is with San Jose and Westgarth is with the New York Islanders.
Additionally, Princeton has five players in AHL training camps. Brandan Kushniruk, Lee Jubinville and Dustin Sproat signed with teams in the ECHL but received invites to AHL camps. Kushniruk signed with the Idaho Stealheads and is at camp with Texas Stars. Jubinville signed with the Florida Everblades and is in camp with the Rochester Americans and Dustin Sproat signed with the Cincinnati Cyclones and is at camp with the Binghamton Senators. Additionally, Brett Wilson and Kyle Hagel are in camp with the San Antonio Rampage.
Daryl Marcoux and Grant Goeckner-Zoeller each resigned with their teams from the 2009-09 season. Marcoux signed with the Stockton Thunder in the ECHL and will be at training camp with it begins on Oct. 3. Grant Goeckner-Zoeller re-signed with the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees in the CHL.
