Princeton and Colgate are even in the series at 1-1. Princeton earned a 3-0 win last year on Myslik Field at Roberts Stadium, while Colgate won the first meeting 1-0 in 2007.
The Tigers dominated the box score, outshooting Colgate 24-6 and allowing just one shot on goal. Antoine Hoppenot put Princeton on the scoreboard in the 40th minute. Josh Walburn fed Colby Hahn on the right flank and Hahn sent a great ball up the field for a Hoppenot one-on-one opportunity that he was able to convert. Princeton continued to carry on offensively in the second and was able to get its second goal of the night off a free kick by Devin Muntz in the 64th minute when his free kick sailed into the back of the net. Brandon Busch sealed the Tigers' win at 81:01 when he beat goalkeeper Grant Reed one-on-one. Reed came off his line and was just outside of the six-meter box when he went down to stop Busch's shot. The ball brushed his hands and continued to roll towards the goal. The Raiders' defense suddenly jumped into action but by the time the two defenders got to the goal, the ball had trickled over the goal line. Reed finished the night with an impressive 11 saves, while Sean Lynch earned the win in net for the Tigers but did not face a shot. Junior Thomas Gasparini went in on relief for the final 7:21 and made one save.
