Lacrosse, Volleyball Showdowns Featured In Latest TigerCast
April 29, 2010 | Men's Lacrosse, Men's Volleyball
John Cunningham (men's lacrosse) and Jeff McCown (men's volleyball) join the latest edition of TigerCast on the eve of huge weekends for their respective programs.
Cunningham, whose ability to play both defense and longstick midfield has helped Princeton off to its fast start, will lead the men's lacrosse team into a Top-10 showdown with Ivy League rival Cornell this weekend (5 p.m., Class of '52 Stadium, ESPNU/103.3 FM). Princeton has already clinched a share of the league title, but can win it outright and assure itself home field for the Ivy League Tournament next weekend with a victory. Cunningham talks about the season, the adjustments to a new coaching staff and the rivalry with Cornell.
McCown has been a three-year starter for the men's volleyball team, but he definitely saved his best for last. A consistent hitter and the leading blocker for Princeton, McCown earned first-team All-EIVA honors and helped lead the Tigers to the second seed in this weekend's EIVA playoffs. Princeton opens play Thursday night against third-seeded George Mason, when it will look to punch its first ticket to an EIVA final since 1998.
