PRINCETON (11/7/11) -- The 2012 Princeton women's water polo schedule was recently announced by Princeton head coach Luis Nicolao. The slate of games includes six tournaments and a five-game Southern Division schedule.
The season opens the second weekend of February at home with the Princeton Invitational and continues a week later at the Bucknell Invitational. Princeton returns to DeNunzio Pool the following weekend to host Bucknell in its league opener on Friday, Feb. 24, before being host to a CWPA/MAAC crossover weekend that will feature four CWPA schools and four MAAC schools. Princeton will play Iona, Siena, Wagner and Villanova during the weekend.
The Tigers travel to Harvard on the first weekend of March for a round-robin weekend that will see the Tigers play four times. Princeton will take on Harvard, Brown and Mercyhurst in league play over the weekend, and will face San Jose State in a non-league game.
Princeton will have the weekend off prior to midterms, and then head to California during Spring Break. The week starts at the Aztec Invitational at San Diego State and continue with games against Arizona State, Azusa Pacific and Concordia before returning to campus.
Back east, the Tigers travel to the D.C. area on March 31 to play Maryland and George Washington in a league match-up in their final games before the Southern Championships. Southerns will be two weekend's later at Bucknell and the Eastern Championships will be held the final weekend of April at Brown.
