Fencers Take Five of Seven at Temple Invite

Princeton's fencing teams combined to win five of seven meets at the Temple Invitational Sunday at a meet where every participating team, men's and women's, is ranked in the USFCA top 10.
The Princeton women, ranked No. 3 in the country, improved to 24-3 on the season with a sweep of No. 4 St. John's, No. 5 Penn State, No. 7 Temple and No. 9 Duke. The men, ranked No. 7 with a 17-7 mark, fell to No. 3 St. John's and No. 4 Penn State while defeating No. 8 Duke.
Freshman saberist Philip Dershwitz went 8-1, winning all three bouts each against Penn State and Duke while going 2-1 against St. John's. Sophomore saberist Eliza Stone was the top performer for Princeton's women, going 10-2 with 3-0 meets against Penn State and St. Johns and 2-1 meets against Temple and Duke.
The Tigers will have next week away from competition before heading to the Drew-hosted NCAA Mid-Atlantic/South Regional on March 12.
