Ford Earns Second Straight Ivy Rookie of the Week Award
April 12, 2011 | Baseball
The freshman had three multi-hit performances, including a 4-for-5 outing in an 11-8 win over Rutgers. Ford went a combined 5-for-8 with a home run in Sunday's doubleheader against Dartmouth. He also pitched 8.2 innings in a 4-3 loss to the Big Green. The rookie right-hander fanned six, scattered six hits and allowed just one walk and no earned runs in the no-decision.
Ford now leads the Tigers with a .340 average at the plate and is pitching to a 5.35 ERA in 35.1 innings. He has lowered his ERA in four straight starts and his .340 average is the highest it has been all season long.
Ford and his Princeton teammates visit Monmouth on Wednesday afternoon in non-league play and travel to Penn for a four-game Gehrig Division series this weekend.
