McCullough Wins IC4A Hammer Throw on Day 2

PRINCETON, N.J. (5/12/12) - Sophomore Conor McCullough won the hammer throw to highlight Day 2 of the 2012 IC4A Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Weaver Stadium on Saturday, May 12.
McCullough won the hammer throw with a toss of 73.81 (242-10). He reached 70+ meters on four throws and 69.98 on a fifth throw. The next best throw in the field of 25 was 65.75 (215-08).
The 4x100 relay qualified for the final. Senior Ivan Charbonneau, freshman William Egi, freshman Daniel McCord and sophomore Tom Hopkins ran 41.06 in the prelims and will take on the final tomorrow at 12:20 p.m.
Hopkins will also compete in the finals of the 400 after posting the third best time in the qualifying round of 46.86. The 400 final is slated for 1:05 p.m.
Junior Russell Dinkins ran the second best time today in the 800 at 1:50.25. He'll race in the finals tomorrow at 1:35 p.m.
Junior Michael Palmisano qualified for the finals of the 1500 after clocking in with a PR of 3:48.30 in the prelims, nearly two seconds better than his previous best time. The 1500 final is scheduled for 12:30 p.m.
