Porter Captures ECAC co-Player of the Week Honor

Cameron Porter of the Princeton men's soccer team continues to reap honors after his big week for the Tigers last week. He was named the ECAC co-Offensive Player of the Week on Wednesday, Oct. 2.
Porter was a scoring machine on Friday, recording a six-point night and having a hand in all four goals as the Tigers beat Florida International, 4-2. Porter's six-point performance was the first by a Tiger since 2009. He scored midway through the first half to give Princeton a 1-0 lead. Porter then added a pair of assists less than two minutes apart early in the second half to make it 3-0, helping a pair of Thomas Sanner goals. Porter later made it 4-0 when he scored with 17:40 to play. He is the first Tiger to earn Player of the Week honors since Benjamin Burton in November 2010.

The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) is the nation's largest athletic conference and only multi-divisional conference, with approximately 300 member institutions ranging across 16 states from Maine to North Carolina and westerly to Illinois. The ECAC's first commissioner was Asa S. Bushnell a 1921 graduate of Princeton. The ECAC is headquartered in Cape Cod, at the Asa S. Bushnell Center.
The ECAC selects Players of the Week based on each conference's players of the week and nominations from independent schools, in the sports of men's and women's soccer, football and field hockey during the fall.
