Women's Cross Country Wins Inter-Regional Meet

PRINCETON, N.J. (10/3/15) - The No. 28-ranked Princeton women's cross country team defeated 11 teams, including three other ranked squads as the Tigers won the Princeton Inter-Regional Meet on Saturday at West Windsor Fields.
Princeton had three runners finish in the top 10 and earned a score of 80. No. 21 North Carolina was second with 90 points, Columbia - which is receiving votes in the poll - claimed 108 points. No. 18 William & Mary was sixth and had the top two individual finishers in Regan Rome and Emily Stites. No. 25 Villanova was fourth.
Behind Rome and Stites who each clocked in at 20:39, was Princeton's Bird at 20:42.7. Seniors Emily de La Bruyere was fifth at 20:51.8 and Kathryn Fluehr was seventh at 21:06.7. Junior Ally Markovich was the fourth Tiger across the line, taking 19th with a time of 21:33.5 and junior Nicole Marvin ran 22:05.2 to finish 48th overall and 46th in the team placement.
Princeton's top group will take on the Wisconsin Invitational on Friday, Oct. 16. The rest of the team will run at the Princeton Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 17.
