Linemates Lund and Bullock Capture ECAC Weekly Awards
November 23, 2016 | Women's Ice Hockey
Princeton sophomore Karlie Lund and freshman Carly Bullock captured ECAC Hockey Player and Rookie of the Week honors this week, as the former high school teammates combined on the same line this weekend for the Tigers and combined for an eight-point weekend.
Lund had four-point week as she had a hat trick and the game-winning goal over No. 5 Colgate on Friday. The hat trick was just the second of her career, and second over the Raiders. She finished with a +3 rating and was the first star of the game on Friday night as the Tigers defeated Colgate 7-2. The next afternoon she set up Bullock, on a 2-on-1 to make it a 1-1 game with the Big Red.
Bullock led all freshman in the league with a four-point weekend. She scored two goals and two assists and finished with a +4 as she was named a star of the game in both games. She scored an unassisted goal to give Princeton a 1-0 lead over No. 5 Colgate just 4:35 into the game and assisted on two other goals, including the game winner. The next day against Cornell, she scored the Tigers' goal in the first that made it a 1-1 game, after a forced turnover and quick transition.
Princeton travels to Boston University for a pair of non-conference games this weekend.
