Princeton Fills Out Coaching Staff with Lister and Imhof
June 13, 2018 | Women's Basketball
PRINCETON, N.J. – Princeton head coach Courtney Banghart has filled out her coaching staff as she has announced the hiring of Cinnamon Lister and Jessica Imhof today.
Â
Lister will have the title of assistant coach and Imhof will be the director of basketball operations. This is Lister's first coaching position while Imhof spent the last three seasons as VCU.
Â
Lister has been playing overseas in Morocco and Cyprus for the last three seasons. She has also worked for the Works Sports Academy over the past eight years as a coach and personal basketball trainer. During that time, Lister has been an administrative director and skills instructor at Nike/US Sports Camps. The assistant coach played at Cal-Northridge (2012-15) and Boise State (2010-12). As a two-year starter and co-captain, she helped her squad to back-to-back Big West Tournament titles and NCAA Tournament appearances.
Â
"Princeton has a standard of excellence which I have long respected and admired," said Lister. Â "I am extremely excited to be a part of such an amazing and talented staff at Princeton. I am looking forward to working with the student-athletes and helping them grow on and off the court."
Â
"We are thrilled to add Cinnamon to our program and community at Princeton," mentioned Banghart. "She has such a passion for the game, combined with a genuine eagerness to contribute positively to the student-athlete experience as a whole. She brings experience as a successful D-I student-athlete having played in two NCAA Tournaments, as well spending the last three years playing professionally overseas. Cinnamon is ready to convert her playing experience to her role as an assistant coach. She is a winner and a force for good that we'll all rally around. She will be counted on immediately for recruiting and on-court development and has already begun contributing to many other areas of the program."
Â
While at VCU, Imhof broke down footage for scouting and evaluation, as well as a number of other duties. Prior to that, she was a two-year graduate assistant at Elmira College where she was involved in scouting and video breakdown. At Elmira she earned her master's degree in Education. Imhof was also an assistant at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) where she played for four seasons, helping the Lions reached the Division III national semifinal contest in 2009.
Â
"I am extremely grateful to be part of the winning tradition at Princeton," stated Imhof. "The championship mindset that Coach Banghart has established within her program is what inspired me to join the team. Princeton is a community where our student-athletes can thrive on and off the court, and I am looking forward to helping the program with continued success. It feels incredible to return home to the state of New Jersey as a Princeton Tiger, and I would like to thank Coach Banghart for giving me this opportunity."
Â
"Jess is familiar with this area, as she has worked our summer camps in the past and before that, she played in a Final Four while at TCNJ just down the street," relayed Banghart. "She's a rising star in this industry. She has successful playing experience, experience as a collegiate assistant coach, and most recently, was elite in her role as a video coordinator at VCU. Jess will bring such a breadth of skills to our staff and will be counted on to contribute in all facets of our program. She is eager to help us bring this program to new heights."
