Princeton starts a two-game homestand with the Hartford Hawks on Tuesday. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m. The men’s basketball team also plays that night with an 8 p.m. tip-off vs. Monmouth.
The Tigers are on a three-game winning streak and currently sit at 7-1 overall. Princeton used a 19-3 sprint during the second half to take down the Marist Red Foxes on Saturday night.
Carlie Littlefield led the road unit with 19 points while Julia Cunningham add 14. Ellie Mitchell was two points shy of consecutive double-doubles, putting up eight points and 13 rebounds. Mitchell also added nine offensive caroms, three assists, three steals and was a team-best +22 in the win.
Head coach Carla Berube’s squad leads the Ivy League in blocked shots, blocked shots per game, free-throw percentage, steals and steals per game.
Bella Alarie is sixth all-time in points (1,377).
The senior is first in blocks (206), tied for fifth in career scoring average (15.6), tied for first in double-doubles (35), third in rebounding average (9.1), fourth in rebounds (805), eighth in free throw percentage (.765) and is tied for eighth ninth in field goals made (529).
The two-time Ivy Player of the Year was named to the Ann Meyers Drysdale Award Watch List yesterday. Other Watch Lists for her include the Wooden Award, The Wade Trophy and Naismith Trophy.
The Hawks are 0-9 this season with one of their losses coming to Harvard. Jada Lucas leads the team in scoring at 13.9 points per game.
