Heavies Have Five Named All-Americans

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton men's heavyweight rowing team had five rowers named Intercollegiate Rowing Coaches' Association (IRCA) All-Americans, the organization announced today.
Keelan Good and Erik Spinka were named first-team All-America while Floyd Benedikter, Hanno Brach and Tassilo von Mueller earned second team accolades. Princeton was one of only three schools (Washington and Cal) to have five total. The Tigers also had three men's lightweight rowers selected, giving the boathouse eight, tied for the most by a single school with Navy.
Good, Spinka and Brach were on the varsity eight that finished eighth at this year's IRA Championships. The eight also earned victories over St. Joe's, Drexel, Holy Cross and Navy. Benedikter and von Mueller were also on the eight during the regular season.
"We were so proud of all of our All-Americans," said head coach Greg Hughes. "To be recognized by other coaches in the limited time they were out on the water is a testament to the hard work they put it in."
