Lucia Scalamandre Earns Second-Consecutive Ivy Rookie of the Week Honor

PRINCETON, N.J. – For the second-consecutive week, freshman Lucia Scalamandre of the Princeton University women's volleyball team has been honored as the Ivy League Rookie of the Week.
In the Tigers' two victories, Scalamandre averaged 2.86 kills per set on a .395 hitting percentage, and had six digs along with four blocks and three service aces.
On Friday, September 30, Princeton overcame Dartmouth, 3-0 (25-21, 25-17, 26-24) and Scalamandre finished with 11 kills on a .435 hitting percentage, three digs, and two blocks.
She followed up with nine kills on a .350 hitting percentage, three service aces, three digs, and two blocks in a 3-1 (25-22, 25-18, 20-25, 25-22) win at Harvard on Saturday, October 1.
Scalamandre's honor also marks the fourth time in 2022 a Tigers has been named Ivy League Rookie of the Week, as freshman Valerie Nutakor also earned award on Monday, September 12, and Monday, September 19.
The Ivy League blocks per set leader with 1.23, Scalamandre's hitting percentage of .376 also ranks second in the conference.
