Peters Added To Tewaraaton Award Watch List
March 10, 2022 | Men's Lacrosse
When you make a combined 36 saves against teams ranked in the top three in a two-Saturday stretch, you tend to get noticed around the country.Â
Princeton senior goalie Erik Peters, who did just that against No. 1 Maryland and No. 3 Georgetown the last two weeks, has been added to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List for his early-season performance. His teammate George Baughan was a preseason selection.
Peters has been on fire all season, with a .620 save percentage that ranks sixth in Division I. He also ranks eight in Division I in saves per game.
He was especially sharp the last two weeks, with a career-best 19 saves against Maryland and then 17 more against Georgetown. Princeton defeated the Hoyas 10-8 to move into the top 10 of the national rankings.
Next up for Princeton is a game against the new No. 3 team in the country, Rutgers Saturday. Face-off is scheduled for 1.
