
Reigning EIVA Champion Men’s Volleyball Announces 2020 Schedule

Princeton University men’s volleyball head coach Sam Shweisky announced the reigning Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (EIVA) Tigers’ 2020 season schedule Friday morning. Princeton’s slate is highlighted by nine home matches and seven opponents who were ranked inside the top-15 of the final American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) poll of 2019.
Princeton’s schedule also includes three teams that participated the 2019 NCAA Tournament; Pepperdine University, the University of Southern California and Lewis University.

Princeton officially opens its season with a trip to the west coast against a trio of teams that were ranked inside the AVCA top-10 at the end of last season; the Tigers face the University of California, Irvine (Dec. 29) followed by Pepperdine in an exhibition (Dec. 31) and USC (Jan. 2).

The Tigers’ home opener takes place against UCLA (Jan. 6) before it plays nine-consecutive matches on the road starting with a pair of matches at the University of Charleston (Feb. 10 & Feb. 11) which will be Princeton's first two EIVA matches of the season. Matches against the University of California – San Diego (Jan 28), the University of California, Los Angeles (Jan. 30), California State University, Northridge (Feb. 1), the New Jersey Institute of Technology (Feb. 7), Pennsylvania State University (Feb. 14), the University of Saint Francis (Feb. 15) and George Mason University (Feb. 22) follow.

Princeton returns to Dillon Gym against Sacred Heart University (Feb. 28) and Harvard University (Feb. 29) before it ventures to the midwest for spring break. It opens the trip at Lewis (Mar. 18) before it takes on Loyola University Chicago and Emmanuel College (Mar. 20 & 21) inside Gentile Arena.

After returning from spring break the Tigers host four-straight home matches, starting with St. Francis College Brooklyn (Mar. 27). Princeton then hosts the University of Saint Francis (Apr. 3), Pennsylvania State University (Apr. 4) and George Mason University (Apr. 11).
The regular season ends on the road for the Tigers as they take on Harvard (Apr. 17) inside the Malkin Athletic Center and Sacred Heart (Apr. 18) inside the Pitt Center.
The EIVA semifinals will take place at a location and time to be announced on Thursday, April 23 prior to the EIVA championship match on Saturday, April 25.

The NCAA Tournament play-in game will take place on Tuesday, April 30 at a time and location to be announced. The NCAA Tournament quarterfinals will be held on Tuesday, May 5, also at a time and location to be announced. The NCAA semifinals and championship match will be held in the Recreation Athletic Complex in Fairfax, Virginia on the campus of George Mason on Thursday, May 7 and Saturday, May 9.
