
Women’s Volleyball Wins Two Major Awards, Places Six on All-Ivy Teams

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Ivy League announced its postseason awards for women’s volleyball Thursday afternoon and the Princeton University women’s volleyball team picked up two major awards and had six members garner All-Ivy League honors.
Head Coach Sabrina King was honored as Coach of the Year for the third time in her career and sophomore Cameron Dames was named Defensive Player of the Year.
Seniors Maggie O’Connell and Jessie Harris along with junior Clare Lenihan were named to the All-Ivy League first team. Dames along with seniors Devin Peterkin and Natasha Skov garnered second team honors.
King helped lead Princeton to a share of the Ivy League championship this season, a 16-7 overall record and a 10-2 record in conference play. She was also honored as Coach of the Year in 2015 and 2016 and helped lead the Tigers to conference championships in 2015, 2016 and 2017.
Dames has with a team-high 361 digs and had a 4.35 digs per set average, which leads the Ivy League. She finished with double digit digs in 19 matches and is also second on the team in assists with 71 and third in service aces with 18.

O’Connell garnered All-Ivy League first team honors for the fourth time in her career. She is no stranger to All-Ivy honors as she was the Ivy League Player of the Year in 2017 and the Rookie of the Year in 2016. Her 231 kills currently ranks second on the team.

Harris garners her first All-Ivy first team honor after being named to the second time in 2016, 2017 and 2018. Named the Ivy League Player of the Week on Monday, November 11 Harris leads the Ivy League with 11.93 assists per set and ranks fourth nationally. She leads the Tigers with 966 assists and is third in digs with 180.

Lenihan earns a spot on the first team after being named to the second team in 2018. Her .387 hitting percentage is a team-high while she also leads the team in service aces with 22 and blocks with 22 along ranking third in kills with 209.

Peterkin is also no stranger to Ivy League awards as she was named to the first team in 2018, garnered honorable mention honors in 2017 and was named to the second team in 2016. Her 280 kills are a team-high while her 237 digs and 21 service aces rank second.

Skov earns her first All-Ivy League honor after an incredible season for Princeton. She ranks fourth on the team in kills with 158 and fifth in digs with 84. Skov was honored as the Ivy League Player of the Week on Monday, October 21 and Monday, October 14.
