Tiger freshman Stephen Wendell had a single, a double and drove in four runs to lead Princeton to the win. He got the Tigers off to a 1-0 lead with an RBI groundout in the top of the first, then singled home a run in the Tigers' four-run fourth, and doubled home two more in the four-run rally in the top of the sixth. Complete details of the game will be updated soon. In the day's first game, UNC-Wilmington erased a 2-1 Tiger lead in the bottom of the seventh inning to earn a 4-2 win. Down 1-0 in the sixth, Princeton scored twice to take the lead. The inning began with Eric Fitzgerald being hit by a pitch. He advanced to second on a single from Steve Young. Fitzgerald advanced to third when B.J. Szymanski flied out to right field. Fitzgerald scored after tagging up a Adam Balkan fly out. Young then scored on an RBI single by Jon Miller.
The lead was shortlived however and UNC-Wilmington scored three times to claim the win. Ryan Quillian suffered the loss for the Tigers despite surrendering only four hits.
