BOX SCORE
One senior had his first career goal, another had his second, and still another finished his climb up the record books Saturday afternoon at Roberts Stadium.
Goals from John Kendall, Thomas Sanner and Andrew Doar led Princeton to a 3-0 win over Yale on the nine-member Class of 2016's senior day, closing a 10-win season for what was Princeton's second straight double-digit victory campaign.
Kendall got his first career goal when classmate Jack Hilger was tripped up in the 18-yard box, and Kendall buried the penalty kick inside the right post for a 1-0 lead with nearly 25 minutes gone in the game.
Less than three minutes later, Sanner headed in a corner kick from another senior Nico Hurtado, getting his 13th goal of the season and 32nd of his career. The season total put him in a six-way tie for sixth-most in a season in program history, and the career total broke a tie with former teammate Cameron Porter for fourth all-time.
Sanner also assisted on Andrew Doar's goal with 41 seconds left in the half, sending a pass into the box that Doar hammered home for a 3-0 lead and his second career goal. The helper gave Sanner 79 career points and 31 this season, tying him for the eighth-most in a season and putting him in third place on the career list. Sanner's 15 career assists put him in a six-way tie for fifth all-time in program history.
Princeton ended the season with three consecutive shutouts, the first two against Drexel and Penn from Josh Haberman and the final one from senior Ben Hummel.
