Â
On the final day of the trip, the Princeton women's basketball team went snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef and enjoyed the sights and sounds of the aquatic life. Today, the team will travel home. The Tigers' 2016-17 schedule gets underway on Nov. 11 vs. Rider at Jadwin Gymnasium.

Last day, best day!
Â
Today was what we've all been looking forward to! Without a doubt we saved the best excursion for last. Snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef was the perfect way to end our trip!
Â
The Tigers had a nice, early start to the day with a relaxing and slightly windy boat ride to Green Island, Cairns. We made sure to snag all of the good top deck seats, of course, ensuring an amazing view of the water and mountainous coastline during our hour and half ride (shout-out to our athletic trainer and MVP, Jodi, for the pre-ride motion sickness medicine).
Â
Thanks to some great advice from our bus driver we knew to jump right into the water once we got to the island to optimize our snorkeling time before the tide got too low. The team put its swimming skills to the test as we ventured out into the water, passing by numerous species of coral, fish, and even had some stingray and sea turtle sightings!
Â
Our exhilarating snorkeling adventure came to an end when Claudia Reid alerted the group that she spotted a shark. As you can imagine, most of us didn't have time for that so we quickly swam back to shore. Exhausted and somewhat frantic, we packed up our things and headed back to the boat for a quick lunch and then a bottomless boat tour of the coral reef. The bottomless boat was just as cool as it sounds! We got to see some beautiful fish and aquatic plants that were a little too far out to swim to while hearing some cool facts about the reef from our guide.Â
Â
Finally, we squeezed in a clutch team nap on one of the island's quieter beaches before heading back to the boat to leave the island. Our day concluded with our "last supper" in Australia at a nice waterfront restaurant in Cairns and some snazzy casual outfits to match.
Â
Needless to say, this has been an amazing trip and we're all so sad that it's coming to an end. I can't believe we've been given the opportunity to explore Australia and play the game that we love! We've all made some pretty incredible memories and we have the GoPro footage to prove it! Thank you for a great 10 days Australia!
Â
Peace and blessings,
