Five Notes for Princeton's Road Trip to Cornell and Columbia

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton Tigers head on their road for their first Ivy League trip to Cornell (Feb. 10) and Cornell (Feb. 11) this weekend.

As Princeton finish its first round of Ivy contests, here are five things to prepare for this weekend.

Bella Alarie – As the Tigers continue Ivy play, Alarie has been one of the best players in the conference. The freshman is averaging 14.6 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.0 blocks and 2.4 assists in the team's five Ivy matchups. With her performances against Dartmouth and Harvard, Alarie was named the Ivy League Co-Player and Rookie of the Week. She was later named the United States Basketball Writers' Association National Freshman of the Week.

Cornell's Three-Point Shooting – The Big Red have four players (Megan LeDuc, Taylor DePalma, Kerri Moran and Caroline Shelquist) that are shooting over 37 percent from beyond the arc, leading to them having the fourth highest percentage in the country (39.8). LeDuc has been lights out this season, sporting a 42.9 percent mark from deep which is 25th best nationally.

Nia Marshall – Marshall has been Cornell's go-to-player this season as she leads the team in scoring (15.8), rebounding (6.6), steals (1.9) and blocks (.8). The senior is second in the Ivy League in field goals made (116) and third in points per game. In six career games vs. Princeton, Marshall has been held to 9.1 points on 29.4 percent shooting along with 3.5 rebounds per game.

Camille Zimmerman – The junior from Columbia is arguably one of the best players in the Ivy League as she is first in scoring (21.8), rebounds (10.1) and field goals made (161). She is also seventh in in assists (53) and field goal percentage (44.2), ninth in free throw percentage (76.9) and 10th in blocks (15). She has nine 20+ points, 10+ rebound games this season. In her four career games vs. the Tigers, Zimmerman is averaging 10.8 points on 32.5 percent from the floor and 3.5 rebounds.

Rebounding – Princeton (seventh) and Columbia (11th) are two of the top teams in the country in rebounding. Each team has two players ranked among the top ten in the Ivy League in rebounds per game, highlighted by Zimmerman's 10.1 which is 28th in Division I. In the Tigers' two victories against Columbia last year, they won the rebounding battle by a combined 23.
