Klausner, Harvey, Van Ackeren Earn Ivy Awards as Tigers Earn Seven All-League Honors

Senior Claire Klausner is the Ivy League Pitcher of the Year, freshman Allison Harvey is the Ivy League Rookie of the Year and, for the second straight season, Lisa Van Ackeren is the Ivy League Coach of the Year as the Princeton softball team claimed an All-Ivy haul not seen in nearly a decade.

Klausner, who started the first game of every Ivy League doubleheader for the Tigers, went 7-2 in league play with a 3.03 ERA, tossing a 1-0 shutout in the first game of the Ivy League Championship Series to put Princeton a win away from the Ivy title and the NCAA tournament, a path the Tigers completed with an ILCS doubleheader sweep. Klausner is Princeton's first Ivy League Pitcher of the Year honoree since Kristen Schaus '08 in 2008, and the first-team All-Ivy League recognition is her first all-league honor.

Harvey, a shortstop, is Princeton's first Ivy League Rookie of the Year since Kathryn Welch '09 in 2006 and is a second-team All-Ivy League honoree. Hitting .344 in Ivy League play, Harvey led the team with 19 RBI during the league slate and posted a team-best 31 runs driven in on the season overall. She was also the only Tiger to start all 43 games heading into the NCAA tournament.

Van Ackeren is the first two-time Ivy League Coach of the Year honoree in the brief history of the award, which was inaugurated in 2015. While leading Princeton to the the second of back-to-back Ivy League titles this season, she became just the third coach in Ivy League history, along with Princeton predecessors Cindy Cohen and Maureen Barron, to win at least two Ivy titles in her first five years.

Princeton had seven All-Ivy League honorees in all, its most since eight Tigers were named all-league in 2008.

A pair of outfielders, senior Marissa Reynolds and freshman Megan Donahey, join Klausner on the first team while making the All-Ivy list for the first time in their careers. Reynolds is ranked in the top 10 in the nation in doubles per game (fourth, 0.41), on-base percentage (fifth, .574), slugging percentage (fifth, .886) and batting average (sixth, .457). Donahey hit .406 in Ivy play with a team-best 28 hits while drawing six walks and striking out just six times. Her 58 hits on the season are the second-most by a freshman in program history behind the 63 that Tara Christie '97 had in 1994.

Senior pitcher Erica Nori and sophomore catcher Keeley Walsh joined Harvey on the second team All-Ivy League. Nori started the back half of each of the first nine Ivy doubleheaders and went 5-2 with a 2.88 ERA in league play after throwing Princeton's first no-hitter in 11 years against North Dakota on March 18. Walsh hit .309 in Ivy play while starting all 20 games in following up her honorable mention All-Ivy recognition from a year ago.

First baseman Kaylee Grant also made it 2 for 2 in earning All-Ivy nods, as the 2016 first-teamer was an honorable mention All-Ivy this season. Grant hit .358 while slugging .528 and adding eight walks and six hit-by-pitches for a .493 on-base percentage.

The complete All-Ivy League list of honorees is below. The Tigers will begin their NCAA tournament Friday night at 7 on ESPNU at No. 4 Florida State in the first nationally-televised game in program history.
