Courtney Banghart's 10 on 10: The Class of 2013
July 14, 2017 | Women's Basketball
PRINCETON, N.J. – Recently finishing her 10th season, Princeton head coach Courtney Banghart sits with 208 career victories, 113 of which have come in the Ivy League. She is fourth all-time in the Ivy League in career and conference wins.
Â
To celebrate her 10 years at Princeton, the Ivy's all-time leader in overall winning percentage and conference winning percentage, laid out her 10 favorite memories. In a weekly article, Banghart's memories will continue with an oral history on the Class of 2013.
Â
Four. That's four-straight outright Ivy League Championships for the Class of 2013. Only three teams in conference history have ever done that. (Princeton 1974-78, Dartmouth 1979-83).
Â
Two. That's how many times the Class of 2013 lost in Ivy League play in its four years. At one point, Princeton won 33 consecutive Ivy games spanning over three seasons, finishing with a 54-2 overall record in the conference.
Â
96. That's how many victories the Class of 2013 had in four years. It was the first class in Ivy history to ever win at least 20 games in each of its four seasons. Princeton had won 20 games in a year just three times prior to the Class of 2013.
Â
Zero. That's how many NCAA Tournaments Princeton had reached prior to the Class of 2013. This group shattered that as freshman.
Â
26. That's how many consecutive home victories for the Class of 2013, a streak that stretched over three seasons (2011-13). The group threw in another 20-game home winning streak to end their careers as well.
Â
The accolades for the Class of 2013 can go on and on, but their status as one of the greatest classes in Ivy history will remain constant. How did this group of four women change the culture of Princeton women's basketball? Let's see what they had to say.
