CHANDLER, Ariz. – The Princeton Tigers are No. 12 in the most recent National Field Hockey Coaches' Association (NFHCA) Poll, the organization announced today.
Princeton dropped two games over the weekend to then-No. 1 North Carolina, 2-0, and then-No. 3 Delaware, 5-3. Despite the two losses, Julianna Tornetta was selected as the Ivy League Rookie of the Week, after scoring two goals vs. the Blue Hens on Sunday.
Duke is the No. 1 team in the country, followed by UConn, Penn State, North Carolina and Syracuse. Delaware, Michigan, Boston College, Louisville and Maryland round out the top 10. Harvard improved to No. 18.
The Tigers welcome No. 22 Rutgers on Friday (4 p.m.) to Bedford Field before a meeting vs. No. 3 Penn State on Sunday (12 p.m.).
