Eye on the Tigers
Princeton is 7-5 on the season and is 3-1 in the Ivy League. Of the Tigers' six losses, five have been by four goals or fewer, and the last two - to No. 11 Syracuse and No. 2 Maryland were by a single goal. The Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week, freshman Sam Fish boasts a .514 save percentage and a 10.27 goals against average. Offensively, freshman Kyla Sears has 53 points on 39 goals and 14 assists. Sophomore Tess D'Orsi adds 30 points on 21 goals and nine assists and juniors Elizabeth George and Kathryn Hallett chip in 25 and 23 points, respectively. Freshman Marge Donovan has a team-high 50 draws with senior Ellie McNulty winning 44. McNulty is also second on the team in caused turnovers with 10, behind junior Alex Argo's 18.
The Series
Princeton has a 38-5 advantage in the all-time series with Cornell since the teams first met in 1980. Last year the squads met three times with Princeton winning all three meetings. Cornell's last win in the series was a 10-9 game in the 2016 Ivy semifinal, and last won at Princeton in 2012, a 13-12 OT game.
Scouting the Big Red
Cornell is 7-6 on the season after taking down Binghamton 15-7 on Tuesday night. In the league, Cornell is 2-3 with wins over Columbia and Yale and losses to Penn, Brown and Dartmouth. Sophomore Caroline Allen leads the offense with 39 points on 29 goals and 10 assists. Junior Tomasina Leska adds 29 points on 24 tallies and five helpers. Senior Taylor Reed, senior Ida Farinholdt and junior Sarah Phillips have all breached the 20-point marker. Senior Joey Coffy adds 18 points and leads her team in draws, caused turnovers and ground balls. In goal, sophomore Katie McGahan has a .452 save percentage and a 10.96 GAA.
