
Nyherowo Omene Receives EIVA Offensive Player of the Week Honors

PRINCETON, NJ - Nyherowo Omene has been named this week's EIVA Offensive Player of the Week. This is the second week in a row that a Tiger has been awarded this honor.
During the Tigers' match against UC San Diego, Omene achieved an impressive performance with 12 kills at a .500 hitting accuracy, along with 3 service aces and 3 digs. Omene not only contributed a crucial kill to secure the first set point but also served as a momentum changer for the Tigers with two pivotal kills.
Omene established himself as clutch player for the Tigers this week against CSUN. The fifth set saw the Tigers and Matadors trading points back-and-forth until a 3-0 CSUN run put Cal State Northridge ahead, 9-7. Princeton would battle back, eventually taking a 14-13 lead after an Omene kill followed by a double-block by Omene and Vena. Omene continued his clutch play, giving the Tigers match point at 15-14 with a kill then securing the match for Princeton with a service ace as the Tigers would win the set, 16-14, and outlast CSUN in the match, 3-2.
