Athletic Accomplishments:
Captain of the women's swimming & diving team, Delaney competes in both the free and the fly.
Out of the Pool:
Delaney has been involved with the Coach for College service program in Vietnam and also the Community Service Inter-Club Council (CSICC).
Coach for College is a program where American college students go the rural areas of Vietnam to teach and coach middle school aged kids in very poorly served areas. Each "coach" is assigned an academic subject and a specific sport, and are paired up with a Vietnamese "coach" to help translate. CSICC is a Princeton eating club program where together, all the eating clubs work together and raise money for community service needs. Truck fest, which raises money for the meals on wheels service group is an example.
Delaney got involved in the Coach for College program through the Princeton Varsity Club, as she was one of the 10 lucky student-athletes to be chosen to to Vietnam. She also got involved in the CSICC through her officer position at the Cannon eating club, where she is the activities chair.
Delaney on Delaney:
"Service has always been something that is important to me, the way that I see my growth and education at Princeton is a three-part strategy — through my education, my athletics and my service. It adds another aspect of my life and experience here at Princeton, where it wouldn't be the same without it. It has been something I've enjoyed, and I will continue to do more of it throughout my life. It's been a big part of my time here; helping me develop into the person I am."
