PRINCETON, N.J. - The Tigers opened their 2000-2001 season with a double-header against Navy and Cornell, and came out on top in both matches. Sophomore Eric Pearson (Philadelphia, Pa.) led the Tigers with outstanding wins against Navy's Andy McCann and Cornell's Neal Soo. Danny Rutherford (Calgary, Alberta), Marshall Sebring (Villanova, Pa.), Will Osnato (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Peter Kelly (Brooklyn, N.Y.) also won both of their matches for the Tigers. The Tigers defeated Navy 8-1 earlier in the day, and took care of Cornell 9-0 in the afternoon at Jadwin Gymnasium.
Last year's Ivy League Rookie of the Year David Yik (North Vancouver, B.C.) defeated Cornell's Tim Nagel, after Nagel had to retire due to injury. Yik won the first game 15-10.
The Tigers head up to Rhode Island to face Brown on December 2nd, at 11 a.m.
