The Ford "Tiger Game Changers Award" is presented annually to a Princeton Varsity team or teams that best represents the spirit of serving the broader Princeton community. While there are many Princeton students and alumni that continue to be game changers on a world stage, the Ford "Tiger Game Changers" team will be honored yearly at the Gary Walters '67 Princeton Varsity Club Banquet each May in advance of Reunions and Graduation.
TIGER GAME CHANGERS – 2026 WINNERS
Princeton Men’s Ice Hockey has been incredibly active with the department’s Student-Athlete Service Council and the Tiger Pals mentorship program at nearby Johnson Park Elementary. They have also forged a special bond through Team Impact and their new teammate Grayson, visited military service members at the NJ Air National Guard and hosted several school reading events in the community. Additionally, the team facilitates several youth hockey clinics throughout the area to help grow their sport and give back to the next generation of aspiring young players.

2025 Winners:Â
Softball
Princeton Softball has been impactful in a number of community initiatives including their Tiger Sisters program which engages with young girls in the community as pen pals and around select games and special events. They have also adopted a new teammate Brooke and fostered a life changing partnership through Team IMPACT, a national organization that pairs children facing serious illnesses and disabilities with college sports teams. The team has collaborated with the nonprofit Let Her Play to increase participation in youth sports among young girls in addition to many softball players volunteering as Tiger Pals mentors and readers in local elementary schools. Additionally, the team has leveraged home competitions to spotlight and promote Mental Health Awareness, Epilepsy Awareness and Pride.

2024 Winners:Â
Women’s Track & Field
The Women’s Track & Field program has actively volunteered with the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen, Mercer Street Friends Food Bank, Arm in Arm Pantry, and community clean-up efforts at the Deliverance Church. They have also undertaken a series of year-long initiatives to bring awareness to cancer and cancer prevention to the campus community.

Men's & Women's Rowing
Princeton Rowing continues to lead and give back with their Stem to Stern program, which has helped make the sport of rowing more accessible – as part of the program, the rowing teams transport, coach and teach both rowing and STEM curriculum to middle schoolers from Trenton multiple times a week. Additionally, the programs have developed an incredibly strong partnership with the Special Olympics of NJ and embarked on their day of service as part of their annual training trip to Florida in concert with Arshay Cooper’s Day of Service initiative.
