Women's Soccer Completes Weekend Sweep, Shuts Out Lehigh

First-half goals from Stella Monberg and Kayla Wong and a second-half goal from Grace Rossner provided the offense as the Princeton women's soccer team won 3-0 at Lehigh on Sunday to complete a weekend sweep of a pair of Patriot League opponents, adding to Thursday's win over Colgate by the same final.

As against Colgate, Cecilia Cerone and Carson Proctor split time between the posts with neither Tiger keeper needing to stop a shot on goal as Princeton outshot the Mountain Hawks 16-2 overall and 6-0 on goal.

Princeton's first goal came just less than 10 minutes into the game when Aubrey Crisostomo sent a long pass from the sideline that Monberg headed in, and with five minutes before the half, after Lehigh was whistled for a handball in the 18, Wong converted the PK for a 2-0 lead. Monberg's goal was the first of her collegiate career.

The Rossner goal came less than seven minutes into the second half when Victoria Adams sent a long pass ahead for Monberg, who, tied up with a Lehigh defender and drawing the attention of Lehigh keeper Chloe Zipprich, sent a pass to a charging Rossner coming up the left side for the finish.

Princeton will play its final non-league game on Sunday, Sept. 20 at Villanova before hosting Harvard on Sept. 26 to open Ivy play.
