Athletic Event Parking/Tailgating Information

Princeton Athletics is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for all fans and visitors. In collaborations with Princeton University’s Department of Public Safety and Office of Transportation and Parking Services, the following information regarding tailgating on campus has been established:

PARKING INFORMATION
- Parking is available in Lots 20, 28, & the following garages: Theater Garage, Stadium Garage & Prospect Garage. Parking spaces are available on a first come, first serve basis. (NO PARKING FEE)

- TAILGATING IS NOT PERMITTED IN ANY PARKING GARAGE.
- Double parking is not permitted, and traffic aisles should be clear at all times. 1 vehicle = 1 space.Â
- Overnight parking for tailgating purposes is not permitted.
- Commercial vehicles (U-Hauls), RVs/Oversized vehicles must be approved. Please contact Transportation and Parking Services at thepoint@princeton.edu.
TAILGATE INFORMATION
- Tailgating must be confined to a small area behind or in front of your vehicle. Tables, chairs, coolers or games are not permitted in any parking space.
- No tents or awnings may be erected in parking spaces or in such a manner a to impede on traffic flow.Â
- All pop-up canopies/tents must be properly anchored to the ground and must be taken down when tailgate is concluding prior the start of the game
- Tailgate Timeline:
- Lots/Tailgates open: 3 hours prior to gametime
- Tailgates shut down pre-game: 15 minutes prior to gametime
- NO TAILGATES DURING THE GAME
- Lots/Tailgates close: 1 hour post-game
- Princeton University reserves the right to alter and interpret policies listed
ALCOHOL
- Alcoholic beverages are permitted at your tailgating site with the exception of beer kegs.
- Beer kegs and items that promote the rapid consumption of alcohol are prohibited at any university athletic event. Drinking games and the use of devices intended to accelerate the consumption of alcohol are prohibited.
- The consumption of alcohol for persons less than 21 years of age is prohibited. University regulations and state statutes on alcohol consumption will be strictly enforced. Any liability associated with underage drinking rests solely on the tailgate/event sponsor.
- Any participant who consumes alcoholic beverages at such events must be able to produce a valid ID that indicates the person's age upon request.

GRILLS & FIRES
- Gas grills with propane tanks that do not exceed 20 lbs. are permitted in lot 28 & 39 only.
- Charcoal grills are prohibited.
- Open fires fueled by charcoal, wood, or other combustible materials of any kind are prohibited.
- Grills are not permitted in parking garages or under solar panels.
- Propane grills should be at least 10 feet away from a vehicle’s gas cap.

TRASH/CLEANUP
- Tailgating party is responsible for bagging all trash from the tailgating area and placing in trash can or leaving in an organized pile for pickup.Â
