Ivy Play to Open Saturday as Women's Soccer Hosts Harvard

Ivy League play begins Saturday afternoon for the Princeton women's soccer team, which will host Harvard at Myslik Field at Roberts Stadium.

The Tigers enter Ivy League play at 4-3-1 after playing unbeaten Villanova to a 1-1 draw on Sunday. Princeton is unbeaten in its last three games, following back-to-back 3-0 wins over Colgate and Lehigh with the draw at Villanova, and has outscored opponents 7-1 over that stretch.

Through the Tigers' first eight games, Kayla Wong leads Princeton with nine points on three goals and three assists. Dylan Jovanovic has three goals and two assists for eight points after scoring Princeton's goal at Villanova, while Isabella Garces has three goals and six points. Maddie Recupero has two goals and an assist for five points, and Stella Monberg has a goal and three assists for five points. Jovanovic leads Princeton with 18 shots, Wong has 15, and Recupero and Monberg have 13 apiece. Princeton has outshot opponents 124-75 and held a 47-32 edge in shots on goal.

Princeton was picked first in the Ivy League preseason poll, receiving 120 points and 10 of the 16 first-place votes. The Tigers are coming off their second straight Ivy League title after going 5-2 in Ivy play last season and closing the regular season with five straight wins to claim the league championship.

Clean Sheets

Princeton has posted four shutouts through its first eight games and has allowed just one goal over its last three games. The Tigers held Colgate to four shots and two shots on goal before allowing Lehigh just two shots and no shots on goal. At Villanova, Cecilia Cerone made three first-half saves before Sydney Romano played a scoreless second half in the 1-1 draw.

Deep Rotation

Princeton has used at least 18 players in each of its first eight games and has averaged just over 20 players per match. The Tigers used 21 players against Loyola Maryland, 20 at Syracuse, 19 against James Madison, 23 at Ohio State, 19 at Rutgers, 22 against Colgate, 20 at Lehigh and 18 at Villanova. Princeton has used 24 different players overall.

Changing Looks

Princeton has used seven different starting lineups through its first eight games. The Tigers kept the same starting 11 for the opening two games against Loyola Maryland and Syracuse before using a different lineup in each of the last six games. Eighteen different Tigers have made at least one start this season, with Lewa Drew White becoming the latest to make her first start of the season at Villanova.

On Harvard

Harvard enters Ivy League play at 6-2-1 and has won five straight games while going unbeaten over its last seven. The Crimson opened the season with losses to Stony Brook and Massachusetts before defeating Fairfield, tying Syracuse and then winning five straight against Boston University, Alabama, Northeastern, New Hampshire and UConn. Harvard defeated UConn 2-0 on Sunday.

Harvard has outscored opponents 25-11 through nine games and holds a 175-109 advantage in shots, an 87-39 edge in shots on goal and an 84-44 advantage in corner kicks. The Crimson have posted five shutouts.

Brooke Huleatt leads Harvard with 17 points on six goals and five assists, while Ólöf Kristinsdóttir has six goals and three assists for 15 points. Molly Vana has three goals and two assists for eight points, Jasmine Leshnick has three goals and an assist for seven points, and Anna Rayhill has two goals and three assists for seven points. Huleatt leads Harvard with 35 shots, while Vana has 28 and Leshnick has 25.

Harvard has split its goalkeeper minutes primarily between Nicole Bidun and Olivia Busby. Bidun has played 405 minutes with a 1.11 goals-against average, 15 saves and a .750 save percentage, while Busby has played 391:59 with a 1.38 GAA, 13 saves and a .684 save percentage.

Harvard was picked fifth in the Ivy League preseason poll with 71 points.

Series vs. Harvard

Harvard leads the all-time series with Princeton 29-16-2 entering Saturday's game. The programs first met in Princeton's inaugural varsity season in 1980 and have met 47 times entering this season.

The teams have met six times over the last four seasons, including Ivy League Tournament meetings in both 2023 and 2024. Harvard won 3-2 at Princeton in 2022, the teams played to a 1-1 draw at Harvard during the 2023 regular season, and Harvard won the 2023 Ivy League Tournament semifinal 4-2. Princeton then swept the two 2024 meetings at Roberts Stadium by identical 3-1 scores, including the Ivy League Tournament semifinal, before Harvard won 2-0 in Cambridge last season.

Among current players, Ólöf Kristinsdóttir leads both teams with three career goals in the series. She scored in the 2023 Ivy League Tournament semifinal and scored both Harvard goals in last season's 2-0 win. Kayla Wong leads Princeton's current roster with two goals against Harvard, scoring in both the regular-season and Ivy League Tournament wins in 2024. Alexandra Barry has Princeton's other goal by a current Tiger, scoring in the 2024 regular-season victory.

Cecilia Cerone is the only current goalkeeper on either roster who has appeared in the series, playing all 90 minutes and making two saves at Harvard last season.

Tigers in the Pros

Princeton's professional footprint has Tigers currently playing in the NWSL, Gainbridge Super League and abroad. Tyler McCamey '25 signed with FC Barcelona Femení over the summer. Pietra Tordin '26 is in her second season with the Portland Thorns, was named NWSL Rookie of the Month twice in 2025, and is among the league's best in assists this season.

Madison Curry '24 is in her second season with Seattle Reign FC, while Aria Nagai '24 began the 2026 season with Utah Royals FC before being loaned to Dallas Trinity FC for the remainder of the season. Dallas Trinity FC has a strong Princeton presence beyond Nagai, with Drew Coomans '26 and Heather MacNab '25 with the club. Tyler Lussi '17, Princeton's career record holder in goals and points, continues her professional career with DC Power FC. Lussi was named the Gainbridge Super League Player of the Month for March 2026 after recording four goals and one assist with Carolina Ascent before signing with DC Power ahead of the Fall 2026 season. Lily Bryant '25 is continuing her professional career in Portugal with FC Porto.
