Stella Monberg had two of Princeton's three goals while Nina Cantor had assists on all three Tiger scores, but Harvard opened and closed the scoring on Saturday to hold off the Princeton women's soccer team, 4-3 at Roberts Stadium.

The first four of the game's seven goals came within a span of just more than 15 minutes, with Harvard getting the first two on goals five-plus minutes apart from Brooke Huleatt and Ólöf Kristinsdóttir to take a 2-0 lead in the 27th minute. Maddie Recupero had the first Tiger goal, threading a shot inside the right post on a play that began with Cantor intercepting a Harvard pass as the Crimson tried to clear the ball from their defensive half in the 31st minute. Six minutes later, Monberg had the first of her two goals, taking an end-line pass across from Cantor and chipping it in to tie the game at 2-2.

Harvard scored consecutive goals in the 63rd and 75th minutes from Kristinsdóttir and Jasmine Leshnick to take a 4-2 lead, but less than a minute after the Crimson regained their two-goal lead, Monberg had her second goal, heading home a pass from Cantor to pull Princeton within 4-3.

Monberg's goals were the second and third of the rookie's Tiger career, all scored within the team's last three games. Cantor, a sophomore, had her first career multi-assist game.

Harvard held off Princeton from there despite Princeton outshooting the Crimson 18-14 overall and 10-6 on goal. Cecilia Cerone started and saved two shots before Sydney Romano played the second half.

Princeton will return to play next Saturday, Oct. 3 at Yale as the Ivy League season continues.
