Pru Lindsey provided the first half offense. The usual crowd supplied the second half defense. Added together it came to No. 4 Princeton 2, Penn State 1 Sunday afternoon In State College.

Lindsey scored twice in a 3:13 span of the second quarter, first on a redirect from Reese Milone and then on a penalty stroke. Penn State became the first team this season to score a goal on Princeton, who had been the only team in Division I who had yet to give up a score, early in the third quarter. From there, the Tigers slammed the door, with the defensive unit of Clem Houlden, Ottilie Sykes and Gabriella Anderson — who had a defensive save — once again doing what it has done so well this season.

In all, Penn State had only six shots on the day, only two of which came in the fourth quarter. The best chance to tie for Penn State came in the final minute, when it had two penalty corners, neither of which resulted in a shot on goal. Caitlin Thompson knocked away both of those attempts.

Lindsey now leads Princeton with four goals, including three on the weekend. The penalty stroke was set up by Ella Cashman's shot off a penalty corner.

The wins capped a weekend sweep of two Big Ten opponents, after a 2-0 win Friday against No. 17 Rutgers. The Tigers will open their Ivy League season Friday at 3 at Penn.
