Jadwin Helping Jadwin
August 01, 2000 | General
Don Pfau and Nicolas Elise, members of the Athletic Department's facilities crew, helped Princeton scientists from Jadwin Hall inflate and suspend a 28-foot diameter balloon on the main floor of Jadwin Gymnasium. The plastic balloon is part of an international research project named Borexino, which will examine particles, called neutrinos, that are produced by the Sun and pass through Earth. Eventually the balloon will be shipped to Italy, where it will be inflated in an underground laboratory and used to study neutrinos.
