PRINCETON, N.J. - The Princeton women's volleyball team suffered a 3-1 loss to Columbia in Ivy League action this afternoon at Dillon Gymnasium. The loss drops the Tigers to 6-7 and 0-3 during Ivy play. The win moves the Lions to 8-5, including a 2-2 mark in league play.
Senior Ana Yoerg (Bloomfield, Ill.) led Princeton with 46 assists. The Tiger offense was hindered by the absence of sophomore outside hitter Kellie Cramm (Laguna Beach, Calif.) who played in just two games but still registered 10 kills and four digs. Four other players registered 10 kills for Princeton, including freshman Lauren Loban (Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.), who also had 10 digs. Sophomore Kerry Song (Coto de Caza, Calif.) chipped in with 10 digs.
Columbia was led by Kathy Lavold and Madia Willis, who had 23 and 22 kills respectively. Julia Topik had a good day for the Lions with 56 assists. Katie Beauregard had a team-leading 20 digs and 11 kills.
Princeton will host Brown on Friday, Oct. 19 at 7 p.m. and Yale on Saturday, Oct. 20 at 4 p.m.
