Men's Water Polo Defeats Brown

PRINCETON, N.J. - Senior co-captain Jon Pharris (Newport Beach, Calif.) had 14 saves to lead the Princeton men's water polo team to a 8-6 win over Brown in the first round of the Eastern College Athletic Conference tournament, hosted by Harvard Universtiy.
"It was a good win for us because we had some young guys step up and play a lot for us," said head coach Luis Nicolao. "Overall it was a really good team performance and it was a nice win for us."
The Tigers had to play without juniors Robert Urquhart (Ann Arbor, Mich.) and Kevin Foster (Davis, Calif.) but sophomore Dan McKenna (Wyndmoor, Pa.) stepped it up offensively for Princeton with three goals. Senior co-captain Marshall Roslyn (Philadelphia, Pa.) also had three goals for the Tigers. Sophomore Dan Holligan (Walnut Creek, Calif.) and freshman Scott Zawilski (Wyoming Valley, Pa.) each added a goal.
Princeton (12-4) will meet Massachusetts in the semifinals at 4:30 p.m.
