Women's Swim Team Downs Brown

Providence, R.I. - Senior Kate Conroy captured both the 100- and 200-yard backstroke events to lead Princeton past Brown on Thursday afternoon in Providence, R.I. The Tigers, ranked No. 24 in the latest national poll, topped Brown 179-121 to improve their overall mark to 4-0.
Conroy finished with times of 55.77 in the 100 back and 2:04.34 in the 200 back. Senior teammate Valerie Kukla won the 1,000-yard freestyle in a time of 10:06.72. Junior Molly Seto took the 100-yard butterfly in 56.28 while freshman Chrissy Macauley captured the 50-yard freestyle in 23.57.
Sophomore Sarah Frauman led a 1-2-3 Princeton finish in the 500-yard freestyle by swimming a 4:56.11. Kukla finished right behind Frauman (4:56.89) and freshman Nicole Somers placed third (5:00.58).
Princeton will have individuals competing at the U.S. Open in Long Island, N.Y. this Friday-Saturday, Nov. 30- Dec. 1 and then the Tigers host Bucknell, Penn, Rider, UMBC and Villanova in the Princeton Invitational on Sunday, Dec. 2 at DeNunzio Pool. The Princeton Invitational is slated to begin at 10 a.m.
