Motlagh Lifts Water Polo Past Navy 9-8

Grove City, Pa. - Freshman Jamal Motlagh scored the game-winning goal as the Tigers defeated the Midshipmen of Navy 9-8 in their final CWPA league game of the weekend. Earlier in the day, Princeton defeated Bucknell 17-10. The Tigers are now 14-5 on the season.
Navy took a 6-4 lead into halftime, but the Tiger defense took over in the second half, holding the Midshipmen to only 2 goals, one per quarter, and Princeton earned the 9-8 victory. The Tigers were lead by John Stover who recorded 3 goals. Kevin Foster and Michael Murray each had two goals. Robert Urquhart tallied one in the win. Peter Sabbatini recorded 16 saves in the match.
Earlier in the day, Princeton defeated the Bison of Bucknell 17-10 on the strength of Kevin Foster and Urquhart's five goals a piece. Stover recorded three and Dean Riskas, Dan Holligan, Derrick Wong and Murray each tallied one.
Gant Morgner recorded 15 saves in the win over Bucknell.
Princeton will take part in the ECAC championships next weekend that will be held in Annapolis, Md.
